Dr Aderotimi Adelola, the longest-serving Secretary to the State Government in the history of Ondo State, has congratulated His Excellency, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on his resounding victory in the November 16 governorship election, while also tasking the governor on the need to be intentional about creating lasting value for the people of the State.
In a congratulatory letter sent to the Governor, a copy of which The Podium Media saw, Dr Adelola said Mr Aiyedatiwa deserved the victory based on his resourcefulness, hard work, and dedication to the people of Ondo State. He, therefore, urged him to continue to work hard to justify the confidence and trust of the people.
Dr Adelola, who served in the administration of Dr Rahman Mimiko from 2009 to 2017, advised Governor Aiyedatiwa to focus on critical areas of development such as Infrastructure Development, especially the completion of ongoing projects and initiation of new ones to improve the state’s roads, bridges, and public buildings.

Dr Adelola added: “Education and Healthcare are also vital sectors that require attention. I encourage you to invest in upgrading schools and hospitals and providing training and resources for teachers and healthcare professionals. Moreover, l implore you to reactivate some of the people-centric projects in health initiated by your penultimate predecessor – projects such as the world-acclaimed Abiye Safe Motherhood, Agbebiye, and Emergency Medical Services. It would be best if you enhanced the development of energy infrastructure to strengthen socio-economic development”.
“Furthermore, Economic Empowerment and Job Creation are essential for the state’s growth and development. I hope you’ll implement initiatives that support small businesses, agropreneurs, and attract investments to facilitate the development of tourism infrastructure and business in the state”, Dr Adelola added.
He also stressed the importance of security and good governance in ensuring the well-being and prosperity of the people.
