Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno recovering from shocks of losing his wife Patience spoke on her attributes as a loving and committed wife and mother.
The first lady died on September 26, 2024, during a brief illness.
Addressing the people of the state in a state broadcast, Governor Eno poured out details about his late wife and pledged that he would continue her legacy.

Governor Eno said his wife was “everything a man could ever wish for in a virtuous woman
she was a prayer partner, counsellor, cheer-leader, best critic, homemaker, and permanently smiling.”
He said they were married for 38 years, “building a life filled with love, service, and dedication to the people of Akwa Ibom.”
Governor Eno vowed to sustain and expand his late wife’s pet projects, including The Golden Initiative for All. “We will pursue everything she held dear while she was with us,” he promised.
Governor Eno reassured the public that the state machinery would continue to function seamlessly, maintaining focus on serving the people with renewed strength. “This is what Kemi (the Yoruba word for Patience) has always prayed for,” he added.
On behalf of his family, Governor Eno thanked the Akwa Ibom people and Nigerians for their overwhelming support and prayers.
