Two Die in Accident on Oyo-Ibadan Road

Two persons have died following an accident on the old Oyo- Ibadan Road on Monday while three others reportedly sustained various degrees of injuries.

Our correspondent learned that the accident involved a trailer and a Micra taxi.

An eyewitness told DAILY POST that the incident occurred at the Funduk area of Moniya in Ibadan.

“2 confirmed dead. The accident involved a trailer and micra at Funduk area Moniya, after Akingbile estates along old Oyo-Ibadan road.”

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commandant in Oyo State, Mrs. Uche Winifred Chukwurah, confirmed the incident to DAILY POST but said she did not have details of the number of casualties.

She told DAILY POST that men of the command have been drafted to the scene.

“Yes, there was an accident. I don’t have the number of casualties now. But, our men have been drafted to the scene.

“They told me that they are already on their way. They are going there already.

“They told me that they were going to the scene when the incident happened, but details, I have not gotten.”
