Former presidential candidate and SaharaReporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, has distanced himself from the newly announced opposition coalition rallying under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the group as a gathering of failed politicians.
Speaking during a televised interview on Friday, Sowore made it clear that he wants nothing to do with what he called “strange bedfellows” parading themselves as agents of change.

“I cannot be on a bridge that has been built and broken by the same people,” he said bluntly, accusing the coalition’s members of being complicit in the nation’s political decay.
According to him, the same individuals who have held Nigeria back for decades are now trying to rebrand under a new banner without any real intention to reform the system. “They are not bridge builders,” Sowore said. “They are country and destiny destroyers.”

The opposition coalition, which recently adopted the ADC as its official platform ahead of the 2027 elections, includes figures from various parties, many of whom are known political veterans.
But Sowore insists the group lacks the moral authority to champion change, arguing that Nigeria’s problems won’t be solved by recycling the same faces under new political umbrellas.
