Omooba Segun Adewale (OSA), the Director of Communications and Strategy for the Campaign Organisation of the frontline People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant in Ogun State, Dr Ladi Adebutu is not resting on his oars to sail through his principal’s ambition of becoming the next Governor of the State.

Adewale in a press statement he personally signed on Monday and made available to the media appealed to PDP delegates across Ogun State to offer their unalloyed support to Dr Ladi Adebutu for him to clinch the party’s guber ticket ahead 2023 general elections.

The Director of Communications and Strategy of Ladi Adebutu Campaign Organisation (LADCO) said,

“As we all know that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has updated the party’s timetable and schedule of activities for the 2023 general elections and as it is the Governorship Primary is scheduled for Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

“There are also sufficient evidence to prove that the former Federal lawmaker is a great manager of resources, especially human resources, both in his private capacity and in public service. He has proven to be economically sound to get solutions to the challenges currently facing Ogun State

“Adebutu has the wealth of experience and network that the State needs in its next Governor. These great attributes should not be diminished by persons that are interested only in their own personal agenda to the detriment of the entire state” he added

“There have been some vicious activities by some unpatriotic individuals who are apprehensive of the kind of reforms Adebutu would further implement in line with PDP’s reform-oriented agenda. These reprehensible activities include orchestration of banal, fictitious and fake news to malign Adebutu’s political standing like creating fake temperament and character flaws narrative and misrepresenting his mien and interpersonal relationship with people.

“Some of the campaigns of calumny to undermine Dr Ladi Adebutu are emanating from his own party, the PDP. Incidentally, those linked to this campaign are of insignificant value and are not qualified to be substituted to Adebutu even if it was possible for them to emerge as their party’s flagbearers.”

He added:

“His pedigree and achievements at the National Assembly when he represented Remo, Shagamu and Ikenne constituency at the Federal House of Representatives are enough assets for him to present him anytime as a political leader with strong and impeccable electoral values.

“Many Federal projects were facilitated and drawn to his constituency as well as employment opportunities. Rural electrification projects were as well promoted and deepened and many towns and communities received transformers to aid their electricity supply.

“Apart from his statutory legislative functions throughout his stay in the hallowed chamber, he was equally known for financing various empowerment projects. He used the initiative as a potent channel to eradicate poverty, social exclusions, unemployment, high vulnerability to environmental risks and socio-economic challenges.

“For him the way to support the socio-economic policies of both state and local government, was through provision of empowerment equipment to facilitate wealth creation, self-employment and a peaceful and prosperous society.

In his private establishment thousands of Ogun State youths are given direct employment to cater to their various socio-economic needs as they also contribute significantly to the government Internally Generated Revenue through their Personal Income Tax (PIT). Adebutu is also a good financier of the party, he used his personal resources over the years to drive many party activities in the state and across Wards and Local Governments.

“I make bold to say the only PDP candidate that can defeat APC in the next gubernatorial election is Ladi Adebutu and PDP cannot afford to miss this open ticket in him, to deliver the state to the party. I once again appeal to all PDP delegates to throw their weights behind Adebutu in the forthcoming party primaries” Adewale said.
