Buhari Directs All Government Agencies, Businesses to Grant FIRS Access to Their Systems

Proshare, Nigeria’s Premier Financial Information hub, as part of its fourteenth  (14th) anniversary announces the re-organisation of its leadership (as well as that of its subsidiary – WebTV Limited), as part of its transition to a “Tech-Driven Information Market” created to deliver value to a new financial ecosystem.

Proshare seeks to take the current experience to a fresh level that allows it to scale services to the benefit of its various stakeholders.

The change envisaged, is premised on a rethinking, refocusing, and reimaging of the business environment with technology being at the heart of a new fit-for-purpose company we have become, one that is ready and able to meet the imperatives of tomorrow by Q2 ‘2021.

The past has been a brilliant journey, but the future is a fresh chapter of the organizational narrative that defines a commitment to corporate sustainability and independent financial market governance overview.

The new thrust will provide users of the platform a different feel and flavour with higher interactivity and stronger user sensitivity. Concerns about the founder issue was resolved in 2018 and the move today is an extension of the well-thought-out plan for succession as well as repositioning for a market we can yet see.

Standing still when the waves of change come crashing down is what Proshare envisaged and sought to address via a hand-holding process that delivered a corporate rethinking, reimagining and re-strategizing approach now under the management of a team that understands the realities, requirements and responsibilities of value creation for success.

In furtherance therefore, and effective from January 01, 2021, the Board has approved the appointment of a new management for Proshare as follows:

  • Grace Adejare-AJUWON – Managing Director
  • Reshu BAGGA – Executive Director / Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
  • Saheed KIARIBE – Executive Director, Director of Data & Research
  • Teslim SHITTA-BEY – Executive Director / Chief Economist; and Managing Editor
  • Ottoabasi ABASIEKONG – Editorial Operations Manager for WebTV Limited (a subsidiary of Proshare Nigeria)

Speaking on these appointments, the Founder and Chairman of Proshare Nigeria, Mr. Olufemi AWOYEMI, expressed his confidence in the team he had the pleasure of working with prior to and during the transition period; which has demonstrated the necessary clarity in culture, conviction and corporate governance on the principal elements of what the firm was built upon to deliver that changed organisation envisaged. Proshare Nigeria Pvt. Ltd.

On this premise, the corporate board of Proshare will comprise of:

  1. Olufemi AWOYEMI, Non-Executive Chairman
  2. Oladipo Ibrahim Dawodu, Non-Executive Director
  3. Ayo TERIBA (Dr.), Independent Director
  4. Reshu BAGGA, Executive Director
  5. Grace ‘JARE-AJUWON, Managing Director
  6. Saheed KIARIBE, Executive Director
  7. Teslim SHITTA-BEY, Executive Director
  8. Jennifer Aburime, Company Secretary (Managing Partner, HeloryMore Solicitors)

What to Expect from Proshare

As the year 2020 runs to a slow and circumspect close, and 2021 is ushered in with cautious uneasiness, optimism and defiant resilience; Proshare will through its well-established research function publish the following reports:

1.     The Third Edition of the Personal Finance Series on Insurance;

2.     The Annual Nigerian Capital Market Report; and

3.     Proshare Confidential Report on the megatrends that will shape 2021 as the year 2020 blinks to an end

Also, in 2021, Proshare will launch its Revamped Platform which would be AI and ML enabled with various features that would improve the optimization, usability and efficiency of its site, with interactive data analytics, content personalization and recommendation tools as well as an accelerated mode of processing text, visual and audio content.

Proshare Nigeria Pvt. Ltd.

The Management Team’s Profile

Grace ‘JARE-AJUWON, AIoD

Managing Director

Grace joined the company seven (7) years ago as a business & market analyst with an eye for strategic execution and development with a  passion for business growth, data analysis, and new markets.

She is a data science enthusiast with over eight years’ experience in business and market analysis, project management, digital marketing and product development; having obtained her first degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Lagos, Akoka, and currently holds a Post Graduate and Masters degree in Economics from the same University. She obtained numerous post-graduate certificates in areas related to strategy, risk management, change management and project management.

In furtherance of her executive development and organisation growth mandate; she embarked on a series of courses that saw her obtain professional certification as a Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) associate, become a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) and a post graduate diploma in Economics from the University of Lagos, to mention a few.

Prior to joining Proshare in 2013, she had worked with Index Investment Advisors Limited as a research analyst and contributed to the development of numerous industry reports and financial market training materials.

Grace has since then, and subsequent to her role in Proshare attended professional trainings covering Business Management, Financial Analysis, Advance Excel Operations, Project Management, Database Management using SQL and Business Analysis using Power BI.

She is currently a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) and has been responsible for the execution of all the strategic objectives of the company since 2018, while overseeing the business operations and service delivery functions of the firm from that time to now, including the project digital engagement that would transit  the company to a DL/ML enabled environment which she would superintend over.

Reshu BAGGA, Executive Director / Chief Technology Officer

Reshu BAGGA is the founding Chief Operating Officer of the company who designed, developed and deployed the operating model for all Proshare engagements. She is often referred to as the “engine” of the service having control over both the technology and practice models of the firm (where she instituted the governance code on all engagements that broke walls in execution and challenged the ethos of the firm on its objectivity mandate).

Reshu was the difference in what stood us out; committed and equally confident on the very principles on objectivity, fairness and equitable discharge of subject, mandate and governance. She embodied what Proshare was and trained, wedded off, and  established what it was to be a Proshare analyst.

Reshu was able to do this based on her high-level credible application to task and role; which translated to her development goals for the capital market and economy.

This was made possible, in part, due to her personal attributes and because she is a skilled Computer Engineer with a Masters Degree in Business administration (Finance and Information Technology) from Amity Business School, Delhi, India. She has since gone on to acquire both academic and professional experience in the management of a change driven entity.

Upon leaving Nigeria to India, after seven (7) years of dedicated service, she continued to serve as the Chief Operating Officer (COO); taking on strategic roles in the design and implementation of research & development outcomes for a Pan-African institution using technology as the basis for innovation to ensure that services, applications, information and analytics are meshed to ensure Nigeria (Africa) is a dominant player in wealth creation, investment migration management and technology adoption as a service.

Reshu, as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) now has the overall responsibility for the Information Technology and Business Service Excellence functions that deliver on both the execution of a dedicated Proshare enterprise model for internal efficiency as well as a new, rebranded website for the different market we envisage.

In the last ten years of consistent coverage of and establishment of the application that supports the service delivery in the Nigerian Market, she has sustained an uncommon focus on stock research, fundamental and technical analysis, financial and feasibility reporting; investor relations and share support services – all geared to delivering a quality business solution, much more important than the technology used to achieve it. She provides direction and support in the areas of technology-based reviews and overall operational efficiency and integrity-based interventions

He is the inaugural head of the firm’s content team and facilitator of the knowledge engagements.

As part of his responsibilities at Capital Bancorp Limited, he also took direct charge of Capital Market research, mergers and Acquisition (M&A) mandates, debt origination assignments and government privatization programmes.

In 1999/2000 Teslim left Capital Bancorp after five years to become the head of the Corporate Finance Group of City Express Bank Plc where he was responsible for Fixed Income debt origination (including that of the Ekiti State Government N4billion Revenue Bond) and other sundry equity and debt origination mandates.
