EXHORTATION

A dream can mean:
a) A Vision
b) A Series of thoughts in a person’s mind during sleep
c) A Revelation

FACTS ABOUT DREAMS

DREAM IS A PHENOMENON ORDAINED OF GOD FOR
MANKIND

Job. 33 v 15 – 16 (NKJV)
v.15 “In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls upon men,
While slumbering on their beds,”
v.16 “Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction.”
Joel 2 v 28 (NKJV)
“And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all
flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream
dreams Your young men shall see visions.”
Acts 2 v 17 (NKJV)
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of
My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your
young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.”
Num. 12 v 6
“Then He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the
Lord, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream.”

THERE ARE SCARING AND TERRIFYING DREAMS

Job 7 v 13 & 14 (NKJV)
v.13“When I say, ‘My bed will comfort me, My couch will ease my complaint,”
v.14 “Then You scare me with dreams And terrify me with visions”

GOD GIVES WARNINGS THROUGH DREAMS
(a)Matthew 1 v 20
“But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord
appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to
take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy
Spirit”

It was through a divine dream encounter that Mary was rescued from being put to shame when her fiancé Joseph, the Carpenter wanted to reject her because she was found with pregnancy.
(b)Matthew 2 v 12
“Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to
Herod, they departed for their own country another way.”
It was through dream that the wise men were warned of God not to return to
Herod.
(c) Matthew 2 v 13
“Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to
Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee
to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young
Child to destroy Him.”
It was through dream that the Angel appeared to Joseph to take Jesus to Egypt for safely from the hand of Herod.
(d)Matthew 2 v 19 v 20
v.19 “Now when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a
dream to Joseph in Egypt,”
v.20 saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land
of Israel, for those who sought the young Child’s life are dead.”
It was through dream that the Angel informed Joseph of the death of Herod who wanted to kill Jesus.

GOD CAN SHOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN THROUGH DREAMS
(a)Dan. 2 v 19
“Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the
God of heaven.”

God revealed Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and the interpretation to Daniel through
dream.
(b)Genesis 37 v 5 & 9
v.5 “Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated
him even more.”
v.9 “Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said,
“Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and
the eleven stars bowed down to me.”
God showed Joseph his future through serial dreams.
(c)Gen. 41 v 25
“Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dreams of Pharaoh are one; God has
shown Pharaoh what He is about to do:”
Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dream that affected the whole nation’s economy.

YOU CAN HAVE A LIFE CHANGING ENCOUNTER THROUGH DREAMS
(a)Acts 10 v 3
“About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God
coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!”

Cornelius, the Centurion in Caesarean had a life changing encounter with God
through Peter in a vision.
(b)Genesis 20 v 3
“But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, “Indeed
you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is
[a]a man’s wife.”
King Abimelech was prevented from taking Abraham’s wife (Sarah) through a
dream encounter.

GOD CAN SHOW YOU HOW TO PROSPER THROUGH DREAMS
(a)Genesis 31 v 10 – 13
v.10 “And it happened, at the time when the flocks conceived, that I lifted my
eyes and saw in a dream, and behold, the rams which leaped upon the flocks
were streaked, speckled, and gray-spotted.”
v.11 “Then the Angel of God spoke to me in a dream, saying, ‘Jacob.’ And I
said, ‘Here I am.”
12 “And He said, ‘Lift your eyes now and see, all the rams which leap on the
flocks are streaked, speckled, and gray-spotted; for I have seen all that Laban
is doing to you.”
v.13 “I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed the pillar and where you
made a vow to Me. Now arise, get out of this land, and return to the land of
your family.”

God spoke to Jacob in Laban’s house through dream and gave hm instructions
that led to prosperity.
(b)1 Kings 3 v 5, 9, 10, 12 & 13
v.3 “Now Solomon made [a]a treaty with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and
married Pharaoh’s daughter; then he brought her to the City of David
until he had finished building his own house, and the house of the Lord,
and the wall all around Jerusalem. 2 Meanwhile the people sacrificed at the
high places, because there was no house built for the name of the Lord
until those days. 3 And Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of
his father David, except that he sacrificed and burned incense at the high
places.
v.5 “At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and
God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?”
v.9 “Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your
people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge
this great people of Yours?”
v.10 “The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.”
v.12 “behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a
wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you
before you, nor shall any like you arise after you.”
v.13 “And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and
honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your
days.”
At Gibeon, God appeared to Solomon in a dream by night that led to his
prosperity.

GOD CAN WARN YOUR ADVERSARIES THROUGH DREAMS
(a)Matthew 27 v 19
“While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have
nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a
dream because of Him.”

Pilate’s wife suffered many things in her dream because of Jesus.
(b)Gen. 31 v 24
“But God had come to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said to him,
“Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.”
God warned Laban the Syrian in a dream by night to be careful and not to speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.

YOU CAN START THE JOURNEY OF PROGRESS OR DISASTER IN LIFE THROUGH THE GATE OF DREAMS

Genesis 40 v 2 – 16; 19 – 22
v.2 “And Pharaoh was angry with his two officers, the chief butler and the
chief baker.”
v.3 “So he put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the
prison, the place where Joseph was confined”
v.4 “And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served
them; so they were in custody for a while.”
v.5 “Then the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were confined in
the prison, had a dream, both of them, each man’s dream in one night and
each man’s dream with its own interpretation.”
v.6 “And Joseph came in to them in the morning and looked at them, and saw
that they were sad.”
v.7 “So he asked Pharaoh’s officers who were with him in the custody of his
lord’s house, saying, “Why do you look so sad today?”
v.8 “And they said to him, “We each have had a dream, and there is no
interpreter of it. So Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to
God? Tell them to me, please.”
v.9 “Then the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, “Behold,
in my dream a vine was before me”
v.10 “and in the vine were three branches; it was as though it budded, its
blossoms shot forth, and its clusters brought forth ripe grapes.”
v.11 “Then Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand; and I took the grapes and pressed
them into Pharaoh’s cup, and placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand.”
v.12 “And Joseph said to him, “This is the interpretation of it: The three
branches are three days”
v.13 “Now within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to
your place, and you will put Pharaoh’s cup in his hand according to the
former manner, when you were his butler.”
v.14 “But remember me when it is well with you, and please show kindness to
me; make mention of me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this house.”
v.15 “For indeed I was stolen away from the land of the Hebrews; and also I
have done nothing here that they should put me into the dungeon.”
v.16 “When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said to
Joseph, “I also was in my dream, and there were three white baskets on my
head”
King Pharaoh’s Butler and Baker dreamt at the same time and same place in the
prison.
They were sad because they did not know the meaning.
Joseph was there in the prison, who perceived that something has happened to them.
The king’s Butler narrated his dream first to Joseph and the interpretation was:
RELEASE, RESTORATION and PROMOTION.
The King’s baker narrated his dream also, which was interpreted to be DEATH.
The two dreams came to pass in a three day interval.
One to DEFEAT and DEATH and the other to RELEASE and ELEVATION
Gen. 40 v 19 – 22
v.19 “Within three days Pharaoh will lift [d]off your head from you and hang
you on a tree; and the birds will eat your flesh from you.”
v.20 “Now it came to pass on the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday,
that he made a feast for all his servants; and he lifted up the head of the chief
butler and of the chief baker among his servants.”
v.21 “Then he restored the chief butler to his butlership again, and he placed
the cup in Pharaoh’s hand.”
v.22 “But he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them.”
If the King’s Baker had prayed for a divine intervention and deliverance, he would not have been a victim.
Likewise, failure to understand and pray necessary prayers can make one a victim of negative dreams.
Finally, listen to these counsels:
You need deliverance, if you don’t dream at all
You need deliverance if you dream and forget
Pray with John 14:26 for the Holy spirit to remind you
If you dream, ask the Holy Spirit to interpret for you; don’t use your head knowledge to interpret
Pay attention to every dream you have: never take it for granted
The negative dream you don’t deal with in prayers will deal cruelly with you with terrible consequences
When you have a bad dream, cancel it immediately with the blood of Jesus. Forbid the manifestations in Jesus name.
When you have a good dream, pray for the manifestation in Jesus name.

DEAL WITH THE UNDERLISTED DREAMS FOR YOUR TURN AROUND TO MANIFEEST

Nakedness in the dream
Seeing yourself in your old houses/school/mate.
Falling from great heights in the dream.
Gun shot in the dream/stabbing in the dream.
Sex in the dream (with Hermaphrodite, same sex, oral sex) before major success.
Slavery in the dream (Errands, Hard labour, servanthood)
Dream of people bringing good things to your without delivering them.
Wearing rags, dirty attire, undersized, oversized, stained garment.
