Families and next-of-kin of slain police officers have received a cheque of N18 million from the Commissioner of Police in Katsina, Idrisu Dauda.

Presenting the cheque to 20 families on behalf of Usman Baba, the Inspector-General of Police, Dauda explained that the exercise was part of the IGP’s Family Welfare Insurance Scheme being given to families of deceased police officers in the country.

He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money while also appreciating the efforts of the IGP for improving the welfare of the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.

One of the beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of others, Maryam Sabo, promised that the welfare package would be judiciously used
