The Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Temilolu Asamu, said this on Thursday during the visit by members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Oyo State branch, led by the Chairman, Dr Wasiu Ajagbe.

The commissioner urged stakeholders in the state to collaborate in the search for alternative power sources for sustainable growth.

He urged engineers to work in concert with the ministry to discover new areas of exploits in the energy and mineral resources sectors.

The commissioner said, “The task of moving Oyo State forward is a joint effort as government alone cannot do it without the support of the relevant agencies.

“We appreciate the readiness of Oyo NSE to collaborate with the state government to look into areas of interest, especially in the energy and mineral resources sector. This will bring about a boost in investments and we shall witness a rise in employment.”

Ajagbe lauded the state government for creating the Ministry for Energy and mineral resources, noting that exploring the energy sector would boost the state’s internally generated revenue and empower the residents.
