The Indiana, USA Chapter of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO-IN) is celebrating Nigeria’s 60th Independence Anniversary with a picnic on October 3.
The President of the Association, Mr. AdetunjiAdeleke, disclosed that the picnic is one of the initiatives of the association aimed at bringing Nigerians together to share in the joy of the Independence anniversary.
“Despite the various challenges facing Nigeria, we still have cause to thank God. We believe that the theme of this year’s anniversary is timely, apt, and relevant. It is only by working together as a team that we can harness our efforts and resources for the sustainable development of Nigeria”, he added.
He explained that NIDO-IN’s mission is to “engage in projects that would engender development in our country Nigeria. Furthermore, we stand as a conduit in which technology, education, healthcare advancement can flow positively between the state of Indiana, the whole of USA and Nigeria, and also the whole of Africa because we believe there is no boundary between Nigeria and other African countries”.
The three main areas of focus for NIDO-IN are a partnership with potential problem solvers, collaboration with local Nigerian-Owned establishments, and mentorship for young entrepreneurs.
