The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has approved the opening of Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport for commercial operations with effect from yesterday.

A report monitored in the Anambra State Broadcasting Service (ASBS), yesterday, indicated that some category of aircrafts would begin landing and taking off from the airport.

Anambra State Commissioner for Works, Marcel Ifejiofor, commended Governor Willie Obiano, who he said, never relented, even while on vacation to ensure that the airport became operational ahead of the anticipated mass return of Anambra people in the Diaspora and other visitors for the yuletide season.

ALSO, President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, commissioned the 40.27 kilometers Nnenwe-Odume-Uburu road in Enugu and Ebonyi states with a pledge that the final lap of his administration would be used to complete projects he initiated across the country.

He stated that the improvement on road transport infrastructure, ease of doing business and jobs creation, among others were part of his administration’s commitment to lift Nigerians out of poverty.

The President, who added that investments in the country’s economic development were manifesting, assured that nothing would detract his administration from leaving enviable legacies for the future.
