A minor, name withheld, has alleged that her father, one Adebayo Lukman of having carnal knowledge of her.
The 13 years old victim resident of Erin-Osun in Irepodun Local Government of Osun State, said her father raped her about two years ago.
According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, Osun State Command, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Daniel Adigun, the father was arrested after a tip-off from an informant in Erin-Osun that the girl is being abused by her parents.
Adigun said the girl’s parents separated when she was three years old and the father took her away from her grandmother to live with his father.
The father denied having canal knowledge of the girl.
Meanwhile, the Corps has taken over and handed custody of the girl to the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs pending the conclusion of an investigation into the matter.
The corps state Commandant, CC Emmanuel Ocheja has also directed an appropriate investigation into the alleged case of incest and unlawful canal knowledge of the minor.
“Presently the girl is psychologically disturbed to give a vivid account of her ordeal but with tact, the Corps will scoop out useful information to help the girl, NSCDC will not condole such act in any guise, the protection of underage and female folk is paramount not only to the individuals but to the nation as a whole”, the statement reads.
