A 20-year-old herbalist, Misipode Dosu, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly poisoning his client and subsequently killing him over a fee of N300, 000.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, made this known in a statement on Thursday, adding that it took police months to unravel the cause of death and identified the suspect, who committed the crime in Omo-Ilu Owotedo area of Idiroko town of the state.
“After months of painstaking investigation, the operatives of Ogun State Police Command have unraveled the mystery behind the killing of the owner of a popular J.B hotel in Owode-Yewa, one Alhaji Jimoh Bello.
The deceased was on the 29th of May 2020 found dead in the booth of his Toyota Camry car parked at Omo-Ilu Owotedo area, via Idiroko town”, Oyeyemi said
The statement said the residents of the area who noticed the car parked in their area started suspecting foul play when an offensive odour was emanating from the car and they subsequently reported at Idiroko divisional headquarters.
“When the police got to the scene, the car door was forced open and the corpse of the deceased was discovered in the booth of the car. The case was subsequently transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation with a clear mandate to fish out the killers”, he stated
